The Challenge
Jakarta faced chronic gridlock, creating billions of dollars in economic loss annually. The existing traffic light infrastructure was static, operating on fixed timers regardless of actual traffic density. Emergency vehicles were often stuck in jams, delaying critical response times.
The Solution
We deployed "Traffic OS," an edge-computing solution utilizing computer vision.
- Edge Vision Nodes: Retrofitted 5,000 intersections with smart cameras processing video feeds locally to detect vehicle density.
- Adaptive Signal Control: AI models adjust green light duration in real-time to clear queues.
- Emergency Green Wave: GPS integration automatically clears a path for ambulances and fire trucks.
The Impact
The city started moving again.
- Commute Reduction: Average travel times decreased by 22% across major arteries.
- Carbon Footprint: Idle time reduction led to a 15% drop in vehicle emissions in pilot zones.
- Emergency Response: Ambulance travel time improved by 40%.
